LaunchGVL is an internship program for high school students in Greenville County. The Greenville Chamber recruits local businesses to hire juniors and seniors for high-quality, paid internships.
There is no coordinator login and nothing to set up. Every page you need, including the internship board, is public and can be shared with a student or a parent as a plain link.
What the program asks of you
Promote LaunchGVL opportunities
Students find the program through their school first. Sharing the internship board when a session opens is the single biggest thing a school can do, because a posting nobody sees is a posting nobody applies to.
Certify who is eligible
Students are enrolled through their school’s work-based learning coordinator, who certifies their eligibility. A student needs your approval before they take part, and they are told to talk to you if they are not sure they qualify.
Point students to the website
The internship board is public and needs no account. Students pick their school system, view open positions, and apply through that school’s process. You can pick the same school system to see exactly what your students see.
Follow up after they apply
Foundation staff review every application before positions are filled. Nothing on the site tells a student that a coordinator will contact them, and nothing emails you when one of your students applies, so if you want to know where a student stands, ask the Foundation.
Reach out to Foundation staff
The Greenville Chamber Foundation provides support to students who may have barriers to employment, such as transportation, clothing, or tools and materials. If a student is held back by something practical, tell the Foundation rather than assuming they cannot take part.
LaunchGVL does not email coordinators when one of your students applies. Applications go to Foundation staff, who review every one of them. If you need to know where a student stands, ask the Foundation.
How your students apply
Applying starts the same way for everyone: open the board, pick a school system, open a posting. What happens at Apply Now depends on the school system, and the board takes care of sending each student the right way.
Greenville County Schools
districtApplications are finished on this school system’s own portal. A student clicks Apply Now on a posting and is handed off there, signing in with their school account. The Foundation keeps that link current each semester.
Legacy Charter School
charterApplications are finished here on LaunchGVL. The student completes a short form on the posting, gets a confirmation email, and Foundation staff are alerted to review it.

Sessions and dates
Three sessions run each year: Session One, a Legacy Charter session, and Session Two. Each one is set up with its own season, year and dates, so the names do not tie to a fixed time of year.
Postings close first
Employers can attach a posting to a session until its posting deadline, which falls before applications open. In between, roles exist and nobody can apply to them yet.
Then applications open
Students apply between the date applications open and the date they close. The board only lists roles from a session that is taking applications right now.
Between sessions
Outside an application window a student sees a countdown to the next opening rather than an empty list, so nothing reads as broken while you wait.
